Tool Box

Features

  • wide bandwidth
  • low distortion
  • high output capability
  • dual isolated outputs per channel
  • direct-coupled i/o (except 1 transformer coupled mic input)
  • minimalist signal path
  • each channel independently regulated
  • robust build quality
  • excellent control feel
  • one mic pre from our MA-2X"O"
  • one mic pre from our MA-4HP
  • one line level HPF from our HP-2SA
  • 2X1 summing amp from our HP-2SA

The Tool Box is probably one of the most useful devices one will encounter in the professional audio equipment market today. It is comprised of two different types of mic pre along with a line level high pass filter and a simple line mixer all on independent inputs and outputs. The first mic amp (found also in our MA-2X"O") is a transformer coupled input, fixed gain amplifier that has a variable attenuator on the secondary of the transformer along with phase reverse and a ratio (1:1 tap) switch. The center -tapped primary of the custom Sowter transformer allows the ideal implementation of 48V Phantom power. The second mic amp is the same as the one direct coupled circuit found in our MA-4HP that includes an integrated high pass filter. The third section is this same type of high pass filter in a line level version as also found in our HP-2SA. and HP-4 LS. The fourth section is a 2X1 summing amp, as also found in our HP-2SA, but with continuously variable control. Of course, all outputs are duplicated on a second set of isolated line drivers for endless routing possibilities.
